Giving our Black Girls the space and opportunity to imagine a world where Black Girls are FREE

Harriet’s Wildest Dreams is a Black-led abolitionist community defense hub centering all Black lives most at risk for state-sanctioned violence in the Greater Washington area. Our work is guided by our ancestors and centers on holistic healing and transformative justice.

This summer we are re-launching our Black Girls Freedom Fellowship. This fellowship provides a hands-on learning experience for Black, directly-impacted girls to transform their individual experiences into a systems-level understanding of police, true safety, and our collective need for abolition. Over the course of six, paid weeks, cohorts of fellows will engage in three different learning tracks based on our 3 pillars of understand, political defense, community defense and legal defense. Fellows will be expected to commit 20 hours a week, weekends included.
